We have been renting from this company for jamboree and short trips in Malaysia. This time round, we planned to self drive from JB-KL-Kuantan. While the first leg was uneventful, our car broke down on the Karak Highway while on the way to Kuantan. Thumbs up for the service recovery done by Bob and Khairul. We were 'rescued' by a transporter and sent to our hotel in Kuantan. All that done in less than 2 hours. A replacement car was sent to us from JB all the way to our hotel in Kuantan on the same day. Although we were initially worried of being stranded on the highway with kids and bags, we were relieved because help came fast. Thank you very much Southern Best. Memang best!

Rented a Toyota Vellfire for our family road trip around Malaysia. Pickup and drop-off arrangement to and from Singapore was seemless and easy. Self-Drove a total of 1919km, visited and explored 4 States in Malaysia all within 12 days. Car is in a great condition, clean, smooth and comfortable for a family of 7 with luggages. The boss, Mr Bob of Southern Best Travel is very responsive and accommodating to all my queries and requests throughout our trip. I book Perodua Aruz one month before and somehow they miss out my order and gave me a old Perodua Alza.
I book the car to pick at 10am in the morning but no one message me until i drop a message to Mr Bob. He told me the car have technical issue where his stuff ask me why i book Perodua Alza last minute?!
Future more, the stuff told me to drop by at Holiday Inn at 12pm but at the end show up at 1pm due to long queue at the car wash center.
The car is old that the aircon is not cold, suspension/absober is broken where our whole road trip is so stiff and the wheel alignment was out. Future more the car can only go up to 90kmh at the highway!
Overall, very unpleasent with the car and the service of the company.

I liaised with Bob a year back to enquire about renting a Hyundai Starex for 10 pax (6 adults, 4 kids 3-6 years old). I had a lot of questions about seating capacity, luggage capacity, installation of my own child seats, and pick-up/drop-off arrangements from/to Singapore. He answered all my questions via WhatsApp very promptly and very effectively. It made up my mind to go ahead this year with Southern Best Travel & Tours.

I requested for a very early start at 4.30 am. The driver came 5 min early. Due to loading and installation of child seats, we left at 5.30 am. The driver Arif was very polite and helpful throughout the pick-up to Malaysia side. He advised that at this early hours, we should go through Woodlands rather than Tuas Secondlink even though my home was very near to the Tuas Secondlink. This was because we had so many people onboard and luggage squeezed in, so it was best we didn't have to get down. This was possible only via Woodlands. We breezed through Singapore Customs but got stuck at the Malaysian Customs as they thoroughly checked my in-laws' passports cos they're not from Singapore or Malaysia (and first time entry to Malaysia). Arif remained calm and patient even though we easily took 15 min or more.

I realised I forgot to take my TnG cards and Arif very kindly lent me his.

We were dropped at Taman Sutera Danga at 6.30 am. Arif asked me to inspect the car and familiarised me with some quirks of the car. After paying in full to him, we drove off.

The car had rather low mileage of 50,000 km only and was relatively good to drive. The car was very clean and in good shape, all seats and seatbelts worked very well. We had a good time in Malaysia as we had personal transport to stop wherever we needed. The Starex was powerful which made it easy to drive and was able to keep everyone comfortable with super powerful aircon. We did Cameron Highlands and KL. Even up the twsity road via Simpang Pulai, everyone was able to keep their composure and only 1 little kid vomitted.

Return of the car was very easy at the same place. Arif came promptly when I texted him. There were no issues with car as he gave the once-over and that was that.

I received my deposit promptly after reminding Bob. I was reluctant to give him my bank details and he was happy to transfer to my TnG e-wallet.

All round very happy with the service and vehicle. The whole process was really fuss free and exceedingly smooth.

Therefore I would highly recommend Southern Best Travel & Tours if you need either driven transport or self-drive transport from Singapore to Malaysia and back.
